Pierced Glasses FAQ:

Q: Why don’t you use magnets?
A: We do! The first pair made didn’t have any magnets as it was just a prototype used to see how they glasses would sit on the face. Every design since has used high powered earth magnets to secure the lenses and eliminate the risk of harm due to lenses being pulled off.

Q: Do bridge piercings hurt?
A: My bridge piercing was painless due to the fact there were few nerves between the eyes, although, some people have more than others. The piercing actually never touches bone or cartilage, which is a common misconception.

Q: Does wearing pierced glasses hurt?
A: Not at all. Actually, because they have no frames there isn’t anything rubbing on the ears, which means they can be even more comfortable than normal glasses.

Q: How do pierced glasses feel?
A: All the weight is applied to the nose pads, making them feel exactly like normal glasses on your face. As the lenses are held by magnets they can easily be removed before bed too.

Q: Where can I buy pierced glasses?
A: Unfortunately we’re still designing a final product, but we suspect to be selling them from this website someday. Sign up on our mailing list and we’ll keep you posted.

Q: How much will it cost?
A: $75 - $100 US. About the same as regular frames.

Q: How does the process work?
A: Step One: get pierced at any local piercing shop. Step Two: buy the frames and we’ll mail them to you. Step Three: Go to any local optometrist and get lenses put on (in any shape you want.)

Q: Why don’t you stop wasting people’s time and just wear contacts or get LASIK surgery?
A: I don’t like contacts or surgery. Imagine that.

Q: Don’t you think that’s a bit extreme?
A: Paying two thousand dollars to have someone cut your eyes and shoot a laser in them (just so you don’t have to wear glasses) seems extreme to me… but I don’t have a problem with that either. And we’ll give you your dose of X-treme Eye Action for a twentieth of the price! X-TREME!!!

Q: What will you do if “X” happens…
A: Take the glasses off / piercing out and go back to wearing normal glasses. After “X” runs its course put them back on.
